Embrace Change

Dragonfly In Grass

Have you ever felt the need for change? To try something new and different? Some would say you might have encountered a dragonfly at sometime recently. Even if it was in your dreams, the dragonfly has a great deal of symbolism surrounding it.

It’s the beginning of a new year and many people feel a change in the air. The dragonfly symbolizes change in virtually all parts of the world. There are many kinds of changes in one’s life, but are you able to go deeper into your emotions, and look deeper into yourself?

This is what the dragonfly can represent. A change. You must be able to see and embrace it. Not everyone is comfortable with changes in their life. I am usually one of those people.

Sometimes when a change is presented to us, we are very hesitant to seize it. This happens to all of us at one time or another. Stepping out of your comfort zone can be stressful and difficult. But, in order to progress in life sometimes, you just have to take that step (or leap).

By looking at change as an opportunity, you can take advantage of it. It is said that change happens for a reason, I believe this is true. Have faith that this change can be for the better and help with your depth of character, understanding and wisdom.

  1. Awesome post, Rebecca.

It’s so true, too. Butterflies are beautiful little creatures, and I personally can’t wait to make some real changes in my own life. I’m finally working out (with a trainer, helps keep me motivated – but on my own, too!), eager to get in the best shape of my life, and I’m overall just resolving myself to be happier with the small things in life.

    1. Thanks Cohen! It is always good to hear when people are happy with themselves. I always hear so many say they wish they could change this or that, but never do anything to head in that direction. Good to know you are heading in the right direction! Best wishes!

  2. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. I love symbolic interpretations. I don’t like change, I’m not good at it. Something as little as daylight savings messing up TV schedules so I can’t watch the same show every night before bed at the exact same time freaks me out. Big things are much worse.

But I have recently began embracing change. I am a new mom so my schedule has dramatically changed recently. I’ve stepped outside of my comfort zone and began marketing and interacting with people on a professional level. I am actually finding that I’m enjoying the change, as much as I put it off and fought it, I am really glad I finally took those first steps and now appreciate the changes that are happening in my life.

Thank you again for sharing. It was nice reading this little piece of reassurance that I’m on the right track.

    1. Your very welcome Courtney! I’m glad I could give you some reassurance. Yes, you have your hands full of change and adjustment with your little bundle! But, as I did with mine, I’m sure you will enjoy every second of it! Best wishes for the New Year!

Love the metaphor and symbolism of the dragonfly and change
The dragonfly to me is an absolute miracle of nature.
At this time of the year we must look at who we are and be honest enough to admit our faults…and make the change..

    1. Thank you Jason! I hope I can bring a little bit of inspiration to people this time year. So many people are full of doubt about themselves, I am trying to tell them to be optimistic, this is anew beginning.

  4. Hi Rebecca,

I also believe that every change is an opportunity. Many times I think that people need to embrace change instead of being so afraid of it. Most of us are really afraid to dive deeper into ourselves.
I did not know that a dragonfly meant change, but like you said this is a time of year that many people are making changes in their lives and is a really good symbol.

    Thanks for this great article.

    Love and light.

  5. Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for sharing the valuable message here! I am so relate to many things you said. We all encounter small to big changes that need to be made in our lives, but sometimes it is very intimidating to even start, especially inner changes. In my case, mostly because of fears that I have deep inside, like fear to lose what I have or to face discomfort. However, I absolutely agree that it is an opportunity to make us better and find who I truly am.

By the way, I’ve never knew that dragonfly represents change!

    Thanks again for sharing!

    Love,
    Young
